HP-C5280 Photosmart Label print problem
October 8, 2007
During my summerholiday in China (1 month) I received several reactions from users around Europe writing that they have (had) the same issues with the HP C5280 Photosmart printer as I was reporting in August Due to my database removal I lost some comments.
I do not own this printer myself anymore: after 2 failing devices I got my money back. But customers do report that even revised printers from HP (Those printers should have had an QC (Quality Check) by HP but still do fail the DVD / CD Label printing. I do urge HP to solve this issue as we are still looking for a printer which is capable of doing its job correctly!

I have the same problem with my c5280 and I also received a new printer from hp wich should be working just fine… well it didn’t and it seems I’m still not alone, hp sells printers who don’t do there job!!!
mass production and selling as musch as possible but they don’t deliver any quality!!!
hp’s comment… we are aware of the bug and we are working on it
–> for 3 months now!!!! :’(
I deeply regred buying this printer and I won’t be buying HP anymore!!!

I also regret buying a HP C5280 at Comp USA. After 1 month it quit printing CD’s.
For some reason Ink is all over the inside housing of the printer. And it just rejects the CD holder and get paper jam error when there’s no paper stuck in there.
Print out is grainy and under magnafication the print looks like it’s been screened with hexigons and squares. To make things worst the software is buggy. Everytime you scan you have to reconfigure the sharpness setting, the descreen setting, size and contrast settings. And then when printing one has to keep going back to configure the print settings for each print out. What a pain….! too bad I can’t get my moneyback from Comp USA.

And not to mention that when it thinks you have run out of ink but still got plenty in the cartridge it prints green when printing only the color blue, and prints orange when printing only the color red.
In addition the cd label feature only works with the half hazard Roxio software that comes with it AND WITH NO OTHER SOFTWARE.

My HP C5280 has just started malfunctioning on the CD/DVD printing after 6 months.
All other functions working OK but it keeps telling me the CD/DVD tray is open, which it is NOT.
Occasionally, when I encourage the CD/DVD holder into the machine the printer starts moving the DVD in and out a few times then tells me I have a paper jam, which I have not.
Not the easiest of products to send back under warranty.

I have the paper jam issue with this 3-day-old printer too. I’ve printed exactly 3 pages with it, and as soon as I tried to print a DVD label I got the error message. Nothing seems to be able to clear it.
What a piece of junk! I knew I should have bought a Canon.
