About Me
Dennis Slagers, 02-11-1971
I am born in Hengelo (o) But I lived about 20 years in Borne (ov.)
Played about 30 years Waterpolo (Heidelberg / SG Twente) and stopped active playing in season 2008. New sports are: Dyving and Skeelering.
After finding a job (1995) in the middle of Holland I moved to Amersfoort.
Started 10 years ago (1998) the Mixfreaks Mailinglist. with the goal to collect the ‘Grandmix’ of Ben Liebrand in te best to find recording. Now after 10 years we still have about 650 members, almost annually a mixfreaks party and lots of fun listening to mixes / remixes / yearmixes (jaarmixen).
In 2001 I won a worldtrip (Libertel SMS Around The World)
Just 1 month before I went on a 3 months (80 days) world tour I met Lilian (My wife) through the Internet. By using ICQ and a webcam.
After returning from my 80 days world trip (together with my one and only brother Erik) I moved to Apeldoorn to live together with Lilian.
On the internet I try to use and test the latest available tools and if I like them I keep them using. Mostly tested on my own personal webserver serving more than 20 domains.
I am working for more than 13.5 years for 2L International as Manager Technical Product Development.
With my team of engineers we OEM and ODM products under the brand Conceptronic.
We test devices and products, we ask and demand changes from the factories we help with firmware development and improvments to the products & create manuals, how-to’s, drives cd-rom’s etc. Also I give support to Linux communities to have the products supported in Linux.
I am Experienced in giving technical trainings, sales support trainings and support on high level on products.
If it’s not Dennis Proof it’s not being sold ;-)
I have large experience in aftersales, support, OEM and ODM business, Training of people, Motivating people to gather more knowledge, I am an expert on analoge modems, ISDN, ADSL, Networking, WiFi (wireless 802.11a/b/g/n) , NAS and Multimedia Storage/Play devices. I’m very well known for the testings and many factories in the far east are enjoy to work with me as the final result is a better product.
Of course I have a lot of experience with communicating with Taiwanese / Chinese people for OEM/ODM projects. (which is a way of working on its own).
No manual has a secret for me as we develop them ourselves.
My blog is my personal page where I write in Dutch or English and sometimes I give people previews of things I am busy with (private or work).
Do not hold me responsible for any of your issues you could have with one of the products I am involved with as this is my playground and you are invited. If you do not like it here: the X is just at the right upper corner of your browser.
If you think that I can be the guy for your project or your company: I am always open for interesting projects and opportunities.

Greetings Dennis!
I’m impressed by the effortless way you transition from Dutch (it is Dutch right? :) to English however for those of us who are “Dutch challenged” it means that we only benefit from your words of wisdom in English.
I applaud you for your work on the various NAS units that all have the same underlying engine regardless of brand name. It appears though that even with your updates those really inexpensive units are not really ready for prime time. I was surprised to find that because they format the drive FAT32 there’s no support for file sizes larger than 4 Gb. I was surprised the performance is so slow. Now lastly it appears there’s some sort of very annoying caching issue going on with Windows Vista that makes the application (usually MS Word 2003) say that a file is saved fine but when you open it again later you find that all of your edits were not in fact saved. This problem seems to be larger when you have only made a small number of changes.
Any insites you have on those things would be appreciated but I think for now we’re probably just going to have to invest in a little more robust unit like one of the DLink boxes.
I like your site but I’m not certain how one gets a login to access the whole site. As a friendly suggestion you might want to edit the generic 404 error page from Apache and substitute a page that actually tells users how to login if they have a login or obtain a login if they don’t.
I tried going to your sister’s site (I’m guessing it is your sister) but unfortunately the only thing English on it was the advertising so I was pretty much out of luck there.
My cousin married someone from Holland who’s moved back here to Canada. Perhaps as he’s a web designer with time on his hands I’ll put him to work translating your site for me! :)
Cheers.

Hoi Dennis of ZeroDay,
Lijkt me een schitterend toestel.

Dennis
goede website. Ik ben een van die CH3SNAS fans. Believe it or not, ik ben zelfs 3 jaar na mijn studie me weer eens gaan verdiepen in Linux. Goed spul!!!!

Christof,

Groet,
Ronald
