Nelly Furtado Does Star Trek

I was really impressed with singer Nelly Furtado’s “Pregnant Trill” Halloween costume. It’s way more original than being a Klingon or Mr. Spock or some Star Trek cliche like that. For those of you not up on your Trekkie trivia (from Wikipedia):

Trill are a species of symbiotic life forms native to the Alpha Quadrant. The hosts, as they are called, are humanoids that appear much like humans, except with distinctive colored spots visible from the top of the head, down each side of the face and neck, and down across the shoulders and the sides of the chest, thighs, legs to their feet. But then I found out that’s actually what Nelly wore to the MTV Europe Music Awards yesterday, and not a costume at all. I guess I should have known, because I’m pretty sure a humanoid host can’t carry a fetus to term while inhabited by a Trill. And I also should have known because Nelly Furtado is a giant fucking tool.
