Geïnspireerd door dat ruilsucces heeft Grolsch nu een commercial gemaakt en op Youtube verspreidt. In plaats van One red paperclip is het natuurlijk One green bottle. Over commercials gesproken: van het bekende Dove Evolution-spotje staat op Youtube nu ook een mannelijke parodie. Video na de klik.

In nov 2005 werd vanuit Spanje het FON netwerk gelanceerd: een wifi community waarbinnen de leden (”Foneros”) elkaars internetverbinding via wifi hotspots (”Fonspots”) delen.
Binnen het concept zijn er 3 soorten Foneros: Bills, Linuses en Aliens. De Bills (naar Bill Gates) zijn de leden die geld willen vedienen aan het delen van hun internetverbinding, de socialistische Linuses (naar Torvalds) delen hun verbinding voor noppes en de Aliens hebben zelf geen FON aansluiting te delen, maar betalen voor toegang via een FON hotspot. Bills en Aliens moeten altijd betalen om gebruik te kunnen maken van het netwerk en Linuses krijgen altijd gratis toegang. De Bills krijgen periodiek een check om hun sharing te vergelden.
Oprichter Martin Varsavsky voorzag mogelijke distributie via de ISP’s omdat het voor de ISPs een interessante extra bron van inkomsten is (zij krijgen een deel van de inkomsten uit de Bills en Aliens) en een interessante service richting de klanten (”neem een abo bij ons en maakt automatisch deel uit van een wereldwijd wireless access netwerk”).

The 27-year-old’s representative Cara Tripicchio tells People, “Yes, it is unfortunately true that her home in Hawaii burned down this morning. Thankfully, Evangeline is safe as she was on set already when it occurred.”
When reached for comment, the fire marshall said, “At first the fire was really intense and unusual. It was really like no other fire I’d ever seen. But after a while, the fire lost focus. It would start burning something and then completely abandon it before the burning was complete. Eventually the fire weakened and resorted to burning some trite love-triangle, and I really couldn’t bring myself to give a shit anymore.”
A flashback reportedly later revealed the cause of the fire, but by that point fire crews had abondoned it for a fire at the home of one of the stars of Heroes.

Looks like Philips will be joining in the party by producing a few remote controls for the upcoming Windows Vista Media Center operating system. Apparently, there will be both infrared and radio frequency versions that come in a similar design, so it really depends on what your cup of tea is. Pricing details and availability are currently unknown, but you can be sure that they will be out not long after Windows Vista Media Center is released. Will any of you be upgrading your living room operating systems, or do you prefer to adopt a wait-and-see strategy before making a purchase?

‘Lost’ star Evangeline Lilly lost her home to a fire yesterday morning
(12.20.06).
The actress’ rented Hawaii residence, which she shares with two female
members of the ‘Lost’ crew, was destroyed by a blaze which broke out at
6.30am.
Lilly’s publicist Cara Tripicchio said: “Unfortunately, it is true that the
home she rented in Hawaii did burn down this morning.
“Evangeline was on set already when the fire occurred and luckily, her
roommates were not in the house either. Thankfully, everyone is safe.”
Honolulu Fire Captain Kenison Tejada received the alarm call at 6.43am.
He said: “When we arrived the house was fully engulfed. It was a complete
loss. We stopped the fire from spreading. It took us maybe 15 to 20 minutes
to knock down the main body of fire.
“The only thing standing was the roof and a couple of the interior walls.
Most of the contents had been destroyed. The home was pretty much destroyed
and uninhabitable.”
Fire investigators arrived on the scene after the fire had been controlled
but the cause has not yet been determined.
Morgan Janus, a neighbor who lives opposite, told the Honolulu Advertiser
newspaper: “I woke up to my dogs barking. There were loud popping sounds,
like something electrical.”
Lilly, 27, who plays Kate in the cult TV drama, is dating co-star Dominic
Monaghan.
The British actor, who starred in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, visited
the house yesterday to inspect the damage but refused to comment.
Filming for ‘Lost’ is scheduled to break for Christmas at the end of the
week.

DOKKUM - Een 13-jarig meisje uit de gemeente Dongeradeel is donderdag op de weg tussen de Friese plaatsen Oostrum en Dokkum slachtoffer geworden van een ‘ernstig zedendelict’. Het fietsende meisje werd aangesproken door een man in een auto waarna het misdrijf plaatsvond. Wat er precies is voorgevallen, maakt de politie niet bekend.
