Sony-topman Phil Harrison heeft volgens de website PS3 Party gezegd dat hij hoopt de PlayStation 3 volgend jaar op ‘de derde dag van de derde maand’ op de Europese markt zal verschijnen. Het nog onbevestigde bericht wordt her en der echter glashard tegengesproken.

Vanochtend presenteerde KPN de cijfers over het derde kwartaal. Het is altijd leuk de begeleidende Excel-cijferbrei te doorlopen. Vandaag viel me voor het eerst op dat eenderde van de Xs4all-abonnees helemaal geen ADSL-abonnement heeft.
Klik naar het Excel-tabje Fixed Con KPI’s om te zien dat het als vooruitstrevend bekendstaande bedrijf 390.000 abonnees heeft. Van hen hebben er 262.000 een breedbandje. De overige 128.000 (!) hebben vermoedelijk een Pack-abonnement, een account van een tientje in de maand waarmee je alles kunt behalve DSL’en.
Andere details uit de KPN-cijfers:
* 47 procent van de DLS’ers heeft een lijn van 1,5 Mbps,
* 34 procent heeft een verbinding van tussen de 3 en 4 Mbps,
* Van de 2,02 miljoen DSL-klanten van KPN gebruiken er 401.000 het ISP-loze Direct ADSL (i.e. 19,9 procent), een jaargroei van 147,5 procent,
* Per kwartaal zeggen zo’n 150.000 huishoudens hun vaste lijn op
* 17 procent van de omzet uit mobiele telefonie is niet spraakgerelateerd, dus sms of ander dataverkeer.
