The YuiXX will be there in 3 different versions:
- Streamer
- model 1 including HDD and Wireless 802.11n
- model 2 including dual DVB-T
All devices will or can have different widgets implemented (we will call it: application channel) especially for Conceptronic.
This application channel will grow and grow with more widgets and can be added by performing an firmware updates. (You will need to activate the YuiXX so that you will always use the latest firmware. Or payments could be possible (depends on the application to be installed or used).
As shown in a previous blog posting at this site: a Mozilla browser will be inside.
Our YuiXX board is prepared for different DVB cards. We also have space reserved for a smart card reader to use for pay TV.
Conceptronic will have different selling models:
- Model 1: our retail versions of Conceptronic with where we will update new functions and additional services like VoD.
- Model 2: Some Telcos or ISPs want to bundle their services with our retailbox of Conceptronic. This can be done via IPTV, DVB or as through special widget/applications. (You want to create your own widget to be implemented?
- Model 3; we make a tailor made version of Conceptronic with DVB-C or DVB-S/2 for certain countries in combination with a Telco or ISP or content provider
- Model 4: we make a tailor made version for a Telco/ISP/ODM or content provider based on our platform.
Also we will create an accessory line around the YuiXX and we will come with more solutions later this year also based on new Intel solutions.

what things would you like to have inside the Yuixx
Do not hit the comments with: MKV, H264, Samba, NFS that are very very common things what will be inside. But special things you would like to make your offline and online experience better
Although 90% of all the specs are defined and implemented there is room for customer request. Maybe not in a first firmware release but .. When shouting: please check if there is info about your wish available and reachable. Think about: license, api’s, drivers or guidelines. Also tips and hints for usability and functions of the menu and settings can be discussed.

Slowly I will reveal more screens from the Yuixx. Enjoy the fanart (Big Image Link 1920*1080) or the little Big Image Link (1024*576)..This is the first screen you maybe never will see as the device will be booting rocking fast. Faster than any other media player you have seen .. ’:-)

also will the yuixx have ntfs write support?

would a harddrive enclosure with more than 2 terabites configured to raid 0 be seen on the yuixx or is that not supported. also is the yuixx still on schedule for the end of feb.?
@ imon this depends totally on what hardware is being used
so than it needs to be tested in that situation.
You will not read from me in forums or websites any information about schedules that will go through the official channel. I only inform what I can share about technical stuff, functionality etc.

[HF2-SU2S2] with Western Digital 2.0TB Caviar Green SATA Intellipower 32 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive WD20EADS in it configured to raid 0 work with the yuixx?
what sort of scrapers will the yuixx be using to pull info for movies,tv show and music for ex. imdb,thetvdb,etc.thanks

@skaterboy: no info about that yet nor any info available. Sorry. It is not scheduled for the initial release. So it will be added later, but that info is not released yet.
Is it possible to use cardsharing like the Dreambox? I is a linux divice so it should be, right?
Raznor, I do not think parties will like this if this would be supported. so I do not think something like cardsharing will be availble, But you never know.

@skaterboy: no that is not the interface. This was the first release of how it could look, but had to be changed.
@Dennis, i want to use the Yuixx to play Blu-Ray images/structures and like the HDI dune i want to use all menu functions. So i could buy the HDI Dune but i like the Yuixx much more for it’s interface and overall looks.

8t88: BluRay menu needs very expensive licenses we do not have at this time, so we cannot show bluray menus
can the yuixx downmix dts? also does it support thumbnail images for video and audio file.
Ok, im confused. So then were can I find pics of the offical interface. p.s. maybe hardware info may want to take those pics down so theres no confusion?
That’s the reason I was interested in a manual or something like that.
When the product is available from of tomorrow.. I supose Conceptronic would also put the manual of this Yuixx on their website… (?!)

@skaterboy, I have made screenshots earlier this year
@bertram manual will be on the website. They will have a quick connect guid for the cables and a short simple setup guide where the widgets are explained.
there will be also some ‘advanced users’ setup, but that will be in an online manual.
it’s a shame about the Blu-Ray menu’s, gotta seek for another player then….
Im glad about the dts, I guess you were able to get the dts liscence just not the bluray liscence. If I posted a sample would you be able to test it?

selling date has been moved to end august 2010.
Their must be a big problem what has been found.. A delay of 6 months is not something I want.. Perhaps looking for an alternative?

Sorry Fwiw.. Sadly the selling date of some resellers are changed to August 2010. For example Komplett.nl !

Well if that is the new offical release date AGAIN that would be a real disadvantage to them. by aug. some other company will probably make something like the yuixx with the ce4100 chip.

@bertram, no official date has been announced by Conceptronic after the statement. We have to rely on other partners.
Conceptronic, is partnering together with Intel and Metrological and Prodrive for getting the device on the market.
If a party discovers an issue we cannot release it.
we are sad that there is a delay but they have to solve the issue announced yesterday.

will this harddrive (wd 4tb external WDH2Q40000N) work on the yuixx?
Brian, totally depends how it is formatted, how you are going to use it for what purpose. Right now I cannot confirm.
I was going to use it to play video files. And it would be formatted to ext3.
I guess what im asking is if the yuixx has GPT partitions. which i have been told is important if you can use a drive thats over 2 terabites
at time of writing internal sata disk >2TB are not mentioned in the supported disk list as they are not available yet.
