The YuiXX will be there in 3 different versions:
- Streamer
- model 1 including HDD and Wireless 802.11n
- model 2 including dual DVB-T
All devices will or can have different widgets implemented (we will call it: application channel) especially for Conceptronic.
This application channel will grow and grow with more widgets and can be added by performing an firmware updates. (You will need to activate the YuiXX so that you will always use the latest firmware. Or payments could be possible (depends on the application to be installed or used).
As shown in a previous blog posting at this site: a Mozilla browser will be inside.
Our YuiXX board is prepared for different DVB cards. We also have space reserved for a smart card reader to use for pay TV.
Conceptronic will have different selling models:
- Model 1: our retail versions of Conceptronic with where we will update new functions and additional services like VoD.
- Model 2: Some Telcos or ISPs want to bundle their services with our retailbox of Conceptronic. This can be done via IPTV, DVB or as through special widget/applications. (You want to create your own widget to be implemented?
- Model 3; we make a tailor made version of Conceptronic with DVB-C or DVB-S/2 for certain countries in combination with a Telco or ISP or content provider
- Model 4: we make a tailor made version for a Telco/ISP/ODM or content provider based on our platform.
Also we will create an accessory line around the YuiXX and we will come with more solutions later this year also based on new Intel solutions.

what things would you like to have inside the Yuixx
Do not hit the comments with: MKV, H264, Samba, NFS that are very very common things what will be inside. But special things you would like to make your offline and online experience better
Although 90% of all the specs are defined and implemented there is room for customer request. Maybe not in a first firmware release but .. When shouting: please check if there is info about your wish available and reachable. Think about: license, api’s, drivers or guidelines. Also tips and hints for usability and functions of the menu and settings can be discussed.

Slowly I will reveal more screens from the Yuixx. Enjoy the fanart (Big Image Link 1920*1080) or the little Big Image Link (1024*576)..This is the first screen you maybe never will see as the device will be booting rocking fast. Faster than any other media player you have seen .. ’:-)

Ik zou het scrollen door muziek wel wat meer IPod-achtig willen hebben. Vind ik nu bij de CFULLHDMA nog wel eens omslachtig/ te weinig grafisch. Verder zou ik een muziek-queue willen kunnen maken real-time op de machine zelf en niet van te voren een playlist te hoeven maken.
Klinkt goed tot nu toe. CFULLHDMA naar de slaapkamer, zeg ik!
Will it support New Zealands DVB-T high def signal. Had to upgrade to WINDOWS 7MC for it to run smoothly…

Also I’m disabled through accident can you make remote sensor strong as its hard enough pressing buttons while aiming remote…
Heaps of accessability would be great this is usually overlooked ie predictive text…

I’m looking at both the Popcorn hour C-200 and the Yuixx for my future mediaplayer. What I really like in the C-200 is the display and the option to put in a BD-rom. Will this be a possibility for the Yuixx to or is it to late for that? Perhaps a second model?

If you wish to take over the flemish market by storm, add support for Telenet’s smart card. Forget about Belgacom (they cannot record one channel and let you view another) or TV Vlaanderen (not popular, by satelite). Telenet’s Digicorder is ridiculously unstable, and has disabled the on-board USB port. It’s also impossible to get your recorded stuff out of the box (usb, wired, wifi, anyhow).
If the Yuixx would include PVR functionality and allow Telenet’s smartcard to be used, that would be just perfect.
Also, allow the internal drive to be mounted on a pc, so that copy/move actions can be done without the need for extra software on the pc. Preferably SMB, otherwise FTP. Please no web interface, they are way too slow…
Next, it seems like you forgot a display on the unit itself. When playing MP3s, I hate having to power on my TV every time a CD is finished, to select another one. A simple monochrome display would have prevented this. Something for v2?
What about an eSATA or USB3 interface?
And why not make the unit 19inch wide and make it fit in with other video/hifi equipment?

Hi,
Intel released the CE 4100 processor family. The Yuixx is using the ‘old’ CE 3100.
Any plans on replacing the processor of the Yuixx by the new more powerfull and lesss energy consuming CE 4100? It is backward compatible with the CE 3100, so no problems there.

check the first information about CE3100 chipset of Intel and see when it was available .. it takes months before such chip is available hence when it is reaching mass production.
So it is for no use right now to discuss 4100 or a ‘future’new product when the 3100 first will be sold by Intel.
So if I decide to use the CE4100 we are talking many month’s from now .. not 1 not 2 not 3 not even 6 ..
Will the second model (wifi N + hard drive) be able to stream wirelessly? So far none of the media players I’ve used can stream 1080p videos successfully.
I’m mostly interessted in the browser and would like to know if it will be possible to watch streams from sites like uitzendinggemist and SBS6 gemist. The browser will need silverlight plugin.
how does this unit get the movie info and image,through the unit itself or a pc software? and will it be available in the u.s soon?

After waiting a long time for the Yuixx to become available I almost bought myself an Eminent 7080 as a replacement for my (ancient) ShowCenter 200. I wonder if you can give some details about the (Ziggo) DVB-C capabilities and versions.
Will the DVB-C version be available as soon as the Yuixx is available or do I have to wait a bit longer?

there have not been made any announcements yet about DVB-C compability other that there will be a tuner for DVB-C

Ik bedoel, op de pre-ordersites staat allemaal eind januari de eerste levering en zoals ik uit de tekst op de yuixx site uit kan maken komt volgens hun de eerste levering pas eind februari. Dat zou wel erg jammer zijn dan, alweer een delay, maar ja als je geen onderdelen hebt kun je weinig he….

Will the yuixx support m4v video files (unprotected of course)
also on the offical site there is mention of atsc tuner but I dont see it mention under any of your bundled models. Are you still waiting for providers before making a model with that installed?
brian, that can only be confirmed (m4v) if such video has been tested.
Tuners will be released after the dvb-t tuner it is unknown yet what tuner will follow after dvb-t

It is delivered with European cords as direct delivery to US by YuiXX is not yet announced.
divxplayer said that u.s orders would be equipped with u.s. plugs. If you have any good pics of the remote control Id really like to see it.
I want to buy a Western Digital 2TB drive for my YUIXX (have to buy that as well…). I wonder if the WD20EADS will work correctly with it.
I read about slow transfer speeds of these drives on Windows and Linux. Some say it has to do with cabling, others say that WD uses physical sector sizes of 4k on these 2TB drives (while so far a size of 512 bytes is standard).
Do you have experience with this drive in combination with the YUIXX? Is there a do/don’t buy list of harddisks (brands/types) for the YUIXX?
Will this support a usb hub and if not can it support external harddrives bigger than 2tb?

Aad: WD20EADS is just a normal HDD (green) from WD, that would be no problem, but is not yet on our compability test list yet.
the WD20EARS is having the 4k sector size and that can work fine, but we do not know what happen with the data if it will occupy more space yes / no.
